On Thursday, Bethlehem Mayor Robert Donchez announced the Bethlehem Health Bureau and Wind Creek Event Center would be partnering to establish a COVID-19 vaccine clinic at the latter’s venue.
Due to a recent expansion of Phase 1A of Pennsylvania’s vaccination plan, individuals 65 years of age and older as well as 18 to 64-year-olds with co-morbidities are now eligible for the two-part vaccination. The health bureau was in need of a large enough space to accommodate the increase in vaccination appointments, and the SouthSide Bethlehem casino and event center was a perfect match.

Previously, the health bureau held clinics at Moravian College and the Bethlehem Area School District.
There are as many as 4 million Pennsylvanians who qualify for the vaccine in Phase 1A, which would require 8 million doses of the vaccine. Earlier this week, Gov. Tom Wolf said that the state had thus far received only 1.5 million doses. When more vaccines become available, the Bethlehem Health Bureau will post a pre-registration form on the COVID-19 portal of their website.
